Minsk 2012 - Behind the scenes -

Doing just one particular sport is not what athletes are supposed to do. Rhythmic gymnastics seems to be not especially a popular sport in Minsk Belarus, where is a relatively closed country. However, the gymnasts are still hectic with various ways besides the competitions even though under low popularity. Warming up, waiting, interviews, press conference, autographing, and maintenance. Although their performing time is 90 seconds for individuals and 150 seconds for groups, it is too short to watch and think about what they do and their destiny as athletes. Nonetheless, it must be nearly meaningless not to film the girls even during their performances.

新体操ワールドカップミンスク2012 - 多忙な妖精たち -

スポーツをするだけが全てではない。比較的閉ざされた国であるベラルーシの首都ミンスクでは新体操は際立って人気のあるスポーツではなさそうだ。しかし、選手達は恵まれない認知度にもかかわらず競技以外のところでも忙しそうにしている。ウォームアップ、待ち時間、インタビュー、記者会見、ファンへの対応、そして次への準備。個人が90秒、団体が150秒という競技時間であるが、彼女たちのスポーツ観て、そしてアスリートとしての宿命を考えるにはどうにも短すぎる。それにもかかわらず彼女たちの競技中の姿さえ撮影しないというのはいささか理解し難いものがある。
